Digital Goa, June 13 – Sewerage and Infrastructural Development Corporation of Goa Ltd. (SIDCGL) has announced that treated wastewater from nine Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) across the state is now available free of cost for non-potable use. This facility is open to the general public, commercial establishments, hotels, resorts, industries, and for construction activities. The STPs providing treated water are located at Calangute-Baga, Patto-Panaji, Sanquelim , Shirvodem-Margao, Katem-Baina Vasco,Durbhat ,Colva and Kavlem-Ponda. The water can be used for agriculture, gardening, watering public parks etc. Hotels located near the STPs are encouraged to use this water for non-potable purposes like garden maintenance and pavement cleaning. The initiative also aims to meet up to 50% of the non-potable water demand for construction activities within a 15 km radius of operational STPs.
