Prohibitory orders issued around Junta House ahead of taxi drivers’ protest

Digital Goa, June 18- The North Goa District Magistrate has imposed prohibitory orders around Junta House today, banning gatherings, protests, and processions under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023. The move follows police input about a planned protest by over 2,000 taxi operators opposing new transport aggregator guidelines from 2 pm today. The order aims to prevent disruption and maintain public peace. The directive prohibits the assembly of five or more persons, processions, protests, or morchas, and the carrying of arms, sticks, banners, placards, loudspeakers or any such item that could be used for unlawful assembly within areas under the jurisdiction of the Panaji Police Station.
