Goa State Heritage Policy to be implemented in phases; 122 heritage houses identified for restoration
Digital Goa, June 20 – Goa State Heritage policy will be implemented in a phased manner over a period of five years. Under the Goa State Heritage 2025 plan, a total of 122 heritage houses across the state have been identified for restoration and maintenance, informed Archaeology Minister Subhash Phal Dessai. The government also plans to draft a revenue-sharing model to support the upkeep of these historic structures in collaboration with their owners. The initiative aims to preserve Goa’s architectural legacy while ensuring sustainable use of heritage properties. Restoration of 222 heritage structures, 46 folk art forms and 61 traditional occupations is also on cards as part of the policy implementation, he added.
