130 metres of power cable worth over Rs 1.91 lakh stolen

Panaji: Some unknown persons stole away around 130 metres of electrical cable worth over Rs 1.91 lakh that was kept in the open near football ground at Fondvem, Ribandar. The cable was cut from the drum, informed the police. The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, informed the Old Goa police, adding that an FIR has been registered against unknown persons. The police said that a complaint in this regard was lodged by Vinod Tukade. PSI Viraj Dhawaskar is investigating the case. Retirement age of Anganwadi Workers and Helpers increased to 62 years

June 24 – Goa govt has increased the retirement age of the Anganwadi Workers and Helpers from 60 years to 62 years. “ Ex-Post Facto Approval of the Government is hereby conveyed to enhance the retirement age of Anganwadi Workers / Helpers from 60 to 62 years w.e.f. 01/05/2024 and to Anganwadi Workers/Helpers those who would have retired on 30/04/2024, subject to the clearance of medical fitness beyond the age of 60 years,” states an order issued in this regards by Director and Ex-Officio Joint Secretary, Women & Child Development.
