Grain Smuggling case: Court slams Crime Branch for not presenting information in requisite manner on bail pleas of 2 prime accused

Digital Goa, Nov 30 – Anticipatory bail applications of two prime accused -– Sachin Naik Borkar and Virendra Mardolka, in the Civil Supplies Dept food grain smuggling case was heard by Panaji Sessions Court today. The court slammed the Crime Branch for not presenting information in requisite manner before the court and also for not serving notice to the accused to join investigation. The matter is posted for hearing on Dec 2. Crime Branch had raided several godowns in the state earlier this month and unearthed alleged grain smuggling racket wherein grains meant to be distributed through fair price shops in Goa was allegedly sold to vendors in Karnataka.
