Goa govt to seek funds from center and world bank to save 50,000 hectares of land in coastal areas :WRD Minister

Digital Goa, Nov 7 – Goa govt will seek fund from center and world bank to save 50,000 hectare of land in the coastal areas, which is either submerged or left uncultivated, informed Water Resource Minister Subhahs Shirodkar. The minister said that negligence of the age old bandh system and climate change are the two primary reasons for the issue. “We will make a survey and proposal will be sent to the center and through the center to the world bank for funding,” he added. Shirodkar also expressed resolve to tour 30 constituencies to survey and propose revival of water bodies such as lakes, ponds nullahs.
