Digital Goa, Nov 27 – Goa is all set to welcome the delegates of G20 States for a program to be held in Goa, said CM Pramod Sawant. India will hold the Presidency of the G20 from 1 December 2022 to 30 November 2023. The Group of Twenty (G20) is the premier forum for international economic cooperation. It plays an important role in shaping and strengthening global architecture and governance on all major international economic issues. The Group of Twenty (G20) comprises 19 countries (Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Türkiye, United Kingdom and United States) and the European Union. The G20 members represent around 85% of the global GDP, over 75% of the global trade, and about two-thirds of the world population. A G20 meet in Goa will be the third major international event in the state after Chogm (1983) and Brics (2016). Udaipur, Rajasthan will host the first meeting of G20 in the first week of December. The first meeting under the tourism track will be held in late January or early February in Rann of Kutch. The second meeting (in this category) will be held in Siliguri, the third one in Srinagar, and the fourth one in Goa.
