Digital Goa, Nov 29 – On an average 45 Kg of narcotic drugs of various types are seized in Goa per month, revealed Superintendent of Police(SP) North Goa Nidhin Valsan. Goans also are involved in drug peddling and are generally the last point contact between the drug user and the drug supplier, he said. “Through a coordinated mechanism we are trying to find out these people and bring them to justice,” he added. There are specific routes passing through various states for some specific types of drugs. The Interstate co-ordination meeting organised by DGP Goa recently has helped in better co-ordination between enforcement agencies of various states, Valsan further informed. “We will be able to deal with drugs properly,” he asserted. Being a tourist state, there is demands for retail drugs and drug trade in Goa is primarily retail, he said. “Mass scale creation or manufacturing does not happen in Goa,” he further added.
