Digital Goa, Oct 18 – Goa govt will come up with its own ‘Goa Taxi’ cab aggregator app by January 2023 by taking all stakeholders and taxi operator associations into confidence, announced Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho. “Goa badly needs app based taxi system to ease the transportation system in the entire state,” he asserted. He further informed that the app will be fully funded by the govt and developed through Goa Electronics Ltd(GEL). A preliminary meeting was held by CM Sawant with Mauvin and Tourism & IT Minister Rohan Khaunte in this regards today. Mauvin as well as Khaunte said that the app will be developed by taking taxi operators into confidence. “They should feel a sense of belonging towards the app,” said Mauvin. The minister further added that the app will also incorporate welfare schemes for participating taxi operators.
Man objecting to GoaMiles counter at Dabolim placed under preventive arrest
Meanwhile, one Valencio Rodrigues was detained and later placed under preventive arrest by police yesterday evening for allegedly objecting to the GoaMiles counter at the airport. Mauvin had re-launched the counter of the app based cab aggregator at Dabolim Airport yesterday. Police said that Valencio was placed under preventive arrest as he was creating ruckus at the airport and dignitaries were scheduled to arrive for the GoaMiles re-launch.
