Digital Goa, Oct 14 – North Goa Collectorate today released list of 139 contact numbers of Noise Monitoring Committee members, Liaison Officers and other authorities including SDMs and Dy Collectors with whom public could file complaints regarding noise pollution. The list includes names and contact number of 63 Liaison officers who are primarily PSIs of 11 police stations in North Goa, 6 Dy Collector & SDMs and 7 committee members (primarily social activists and concerned citizens) – 3 from Candolim- Calangute-Baga beach belt, 2 from Anjuna Coastal Belt and 2 from Mandrem-Morjim-Ashwem-Arambol coastal area. The action has been initiated in view of the directions issued by the High Court as regards constitution of the monitoring committee for proper implementation of Noise Pollution Rules. Locals have raised concerns time and again over loud music being played in the beach belt areas all through the night with scant respect to the noise pollution rules.
