Digital Goa, Oct 13 – Union Home Minister Amit Shah has assured that the UK Visa issue will be resolved as early as possible, informed CM Pramod Sawant today. CM had met Shah in Delhi yesterday. “I personally discussed about UK visa with Home Minister Amit Shah. The issue will be sorted out soon. There were some issues related with the Foreign Ministry due to which the matter was pending. Shah has given an assurance that the matter will be resolved as early as possible,” asserted Sawant. CM said that he discussed several issues including UK Visa, mining block auction, export duty with the Union Home Minister. Unavailability of e-visa facility, long lead times for paper visa appointments, time consuming process involving physical visits and uncertainty of getting the Visa after going through these processes is becoming a dampener for travellers from the UK. Travel & Tourism Industry in Goa had expressed concern that many international travel agents in Goa were reporting huge cancellations of group bookings and charter travels to Goa from the UK.
