Digital Goa, Sept 7 – Three major drug peddled have been arrested by Goa police for curbing curbing drug penance in the state, informed CM Pramod Sawant. They have been put under one year detention, informed Goa DGP Jaspal Singh. CM said that one of the peddler was arrested yesterday while 2 were arrested today. They have been arrested by Anti Narcotic Cell(ANC) of Goa Police under Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Their arrest will help curb drug menace, he opined. However, he refrained from naming the arrested peddlers. He also added that crores worth narcotic drugs have been seized by Goa police in the last few years. ANC has moved a file for destroying one lot of drugs and the same will be destroyed shortly, he informed. Sawant was talking to reporters after chairing a high level meeting with the Goa Police department officials.
Cases will be filed against drug consumers too
Cases will be filed against those who consume drugs in Goa. Goa is for good tourists and not for those who consumer drugs, he asserted.
Police will do surprise checks at late nigh parties, to curb drug consumption, he said.
