Digital Goa, Sept 29 – Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB), Mumbai has seized 3.20 kilograms of high grade black cocaine worth around Rs 13 crore from Bolivian woman on her way to Goa on Sept 26, at the Mumbai Airport. One Nigerian national also been apprehended from Goa hotel in this connection. NCB said in a press statement that the operation has dealt a big blow to international drug syndicate. The 35-year-old Bolivian national identified as Nava Marina was caught by the NCB with the drugs concealed in her suitcase. Black cocaine is cocaine base mixed with other substances to turn it black in colour, which makes its smuggling easier by disguising it as metal moulds or asphalt. It is also undetectable by drug sniffer dogs. “The operation in this connection was on for three days. The Bolivian woman was travelling from Brazil to Goa with layovers at Addis Ababa in Ethiopia and Mumbai,” informed NCB. The woman was held as she was about to board a flight for Goa from Mumbai, the official said. During a search, NCB officials seized the contraband from her, NCB added. In the follow-up action, a Nigerian national, who was to supply the drug to peddlers in multiple states, was held from Goa, said NCB. The press release by NCB read, “On 26/09/2022, shortly, after the flight landed, the said lady was identified who was moving around to board the connecting flight to Goa. Thereafter, she was questioned in routine manner about her purpose of visit and contents in her luggage to which she could not give satisfactory reply. Consequently, a thorough search of her luggage led to discovery of false cavities wherein 12 packets tightly packed were recovered. Upon checking the packets, black coloured substance was found.”
