Acknowledging that there in increase in murder, attempt to murder, rape, dacoity cases in the state, CM said that police dept has been asked to take measures to control the situation. People who have migrated outside during the pandemic have started coming back as economic activity has started full-fledged, said Sawant suggesting that this could be the probable reason for the increase in crime rate. He however went onto assert that there is no increase in crime rate as compared to previous years and that the crime detection rate of Goa is highest in the country. Police have been asked to now focus on crime prevention, he added.
