IIT at Sanguem is proposed on govt land, we won’t have to ask for land from anyone : CM

Digital Goa, Sept 5 – The land earmarked for IIT at Sanguem is govt land, IIT will come up there, asserted CM Pramod Sawant today. “The land that we have identified at Sanguem in govt land. We will not have to take the land from anyone else,” he added. He said that he had refrained from making official announcement as the agreement between IIT and Goa govt was pending. “We have informed the IIT team to come here and inspect. After that the agreement will be signed. There is slight delay in survey but we are ready for setting up the IIT,” Sawant added. He went on to add that around 5,000 people will be residing at the campus, creating several job and business opportunities for the locals. “Class C and D category jobs will be available to those in the surrounding areas,” he added.
The premier institute’s campus will enhance the education environment in the state, he said further.
