Digital Goa, Sept 8 – High Court today ruled that Churchill Alemao will cease to be the president of Goa Football Association (GFA) as he is over 70 years of age. High Court order came in view of the fact that GFA had adopted the National Sports Code which debars anyone from holding office beyond the age of 70 years. Churchill had turned 70 on May 16,2019. The Court however observed that decision taken during Alemao’s tenure will hold good and shall not be called into question. The court also quashed the amendments made by GFA in its EGM on February 3, 2019, primarily allowing those above the age of 70 to continue in office.
