Asserting that remedial classes are compulsory to bring all students on par, CM said that the govt has already started taking action on teachers and managements of schools not taking up remedial classes. “Grants to schools may also be stopped,” he said. Sawant was speaking at Teachers’ Awards 2021-22 program as part of 61st Teachers’ Day function. He also pointed out that in some cases teachers take up part time works like LIC agents, contractors etc which are registered on the name of their spouses. He advised teachers to think about students, school, innovation ,research etc on 24×7 basis.
