Govt issues order appointing retired Justice V K Jadhav commission of inquiry to probe land grabbing cases

Digital Goa, Sept 9 – Goa govt has issued order appointing one-man commission of inquiry under former Bombay High Court judge, Justice V K Jadhav, to probe cases of land-grabbing in Goa. The commission of inquiry has been asked to submit its report and recommendations to the govt within period of 4 months from the date of its first sitting. The commission is expected to make inquiry into various complaints and FIRs regarding illegal land transfer and land grabbing by way of forged documents that have taken place in the state. The commission is also expected to inquire into and fix responsibilities and find out involvement of govt officers and public functionaries. The commission will also inquire and find out loop holes, deficiencies, lacunae and negligence in administrative system and legal framework which led to such large scale land grabbing. The commission will also recommend changes in law for preventing such land grabbing in future.
