Don’t get lured by very high returns, report suspicious schemes : SP Crime Branch

Digital Goa, Sept 21 – Nidhin Valsan, SP Crime Branch informed that of the 8 cases registered with the Economic Offence Cell, nearly 6 show the same modus operandi, cheating by luring victims with exceptionally high income.
He asked people to be cautious and not to get lured with such Ponzi schemes. He also asked citizens to complaint to the police on 112 or numbers given on Goa police website, if they come across such suspicious sounding schemes. Stating that the recovery happens in such cases only through court proceedings, Valsan said, “Recovery is very difficult, if the accused claims that he has spent the money. If he has invested in assets, the same may be used to return money to the victim.”
