Digital Goa, Sept 23 – As expected, no confidence motion against newly elected Chairperson of Margao Municipal Council Ghanashyam Shirodkar was voted out with 15 by 0 votes. No confidence motion, moved by Digambar Kamat & BJP camp the very next day of his election to the coveted post, came up for voting today. All 15 members of Kamat-BJP camp were present and by show of hands voted in favour of no confidence motion. Opposition councillors remained absent during voting. In a sheer embarrassment to local MLA Digambar Kamat and BJP, five members of their camp has voted against their candidate in favour of independent candidate Ghanashyam Shirodkar. The no confidence motion had lost its significance since Ghanashyam had already submitted his resignation as chairman of Margao municipality yesterday.
