Accept self certified copies of documents from citizens, don’t insist on attestation or affidavit – Govt directs departments

Digital Goa, Sept 29 – Goa govt has directed all its departments to accept self-certified copies of documents and not to insist on submission of attested copies or affidavits by citizens. The state govt has adopted the recommendation of self certification provisions for simplifying procedures, made by the second administrative reform commission. Pointing out that there are instance of depts. insisting on attested copies of documents of affidavit at the time of application, the Office Memorandum issued by Administrative Reforms Dept has directed the departments to adhere to the guidelines regarding accepting self certified documents.
