Digital Goa, Aug 29 – A commission of inquiry headed by retired judge will be set up to follow up with legal matters related to land grabbing cases, announced CM Pramod Sawant today. The commission will be primarily assigned the task of reverting land titles back to the lawful owners after verifying the claims. The lands for which no claims come from the owners will be taken over by the government. The entire process is likely to be completed in 4 to 5 months, said Sawant.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has also been set up by the govt to look into the cases involving land grabbing by forging old Portuguese period documents.
