Edwin Nunes is legally not the owner of Curlies Restaurant claims counsel

Digital Goa, Aug 28 – Court today rejected bail of the Edwin Nunes and two others in matter related to drugs found in the toilet of Curlies restaurant. The trio has been sent to 5 days police custody. Police had arrested Nunes and 2 others after 2.2gm of methamphetamine was found in the Restaurant toilet. Nunes’s lawyer claimed that Nunes was not the owner of Curlies and there was no ground for his arrest. “Legally he is not the owner,” said the counsel. He further went on to inform that they will move the NDPS court next. The Anjuna police had on Saturday arrested Edwin Nunes, alleged drug peddler and room boy at Hotel Grand Leoney Resort, Anjuna one Dattaprasad Gaonkar and another drug peddler identified as Ramdas Mandrekar from whom Gaonkar had procured the drugs, under the NDPS Act. Police report had mentioned Nunes’s name as Caretaker/owner of Curlies Restaurant. The arrests were made in connection with drug angle in the BJP leader and actress Sonali Phogat murder case.
