Striking Angawadi workers give ultimatum to govt, say will give up water if not taken in service by today evening
Digital Goa, July 6 – Seven Anganwadi workers who are on hunger strike at Azad Maidan, Panaji for past 21 days have given an ultimatum to the govt today. The workers have warned that if they are not taken in service by today evening they will give up consuming water. CM Pramod Sawant had said that the striking workers will be taken back into service on the condition that they give in writing that they will not participate in any politically motivated strikes. The workers had given in writing that they are not affiliated to any party neither is their strike backed by any political party. However, they have refused to give a written statement that they will not resort to any strike, asserting that it is their right as citizen to protest against any injustice meted out to them. The workers are into 42 nd day of strike and 21st day of indefinite hunger strike.
