PWD goes hi-tech with pothole repairs, deploys Jetpatcher machines and mobile app

Digital Goa, July 6 – Work of pothole repairs using Jetpatcher machines commenced at Taleigao today in the presence of PWD Minister Nilesh Cabral today. Goa govt has hired 2 Jetpatcher machines, one for each district at the rate of Rs 2 crore and the machines are expected to repair potholes in around 20,000 sqr mtr area as per the contract. The company has also given the govt 18-months guarantee after repairing the pothole, informed Cabral. During short dry spells in the monsoon, potholes will be filled using these machine, and the curing effect will take 20 to 30 minutes. If the need be and if they are effective, more such machines will be hired, he added.
▪ PWD to deploy app based pothole reporting system
PWD had also launched a mobile app to identify potholes across the state. During the first 2 months the app will be used by departments officials, JEs , AEs etc to report potholes by clicking photos and informing the dept through the app. The potholes will be repaired within 72-hours of reporting, said Cabral. After 2 months the app will be made open for public to report potholes, he informed.
