With govt employees touching 70,000 figure, CM hints at fewer govt jobs in future

Digital Goa, June 5- The number of government employees has crosses 70,000 in the state, therefore hardly 8 to 10 thousand more jobs can probably be generated in the government sector in near future, said CM Pramod Sawant today. He urged youth not to completely depend on govt sector for jobs. He was speaking at Vocational Guidance seminar by Directorate of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship at Ravindra Bhavan, Sankhali today. Pointing out that 80 % of the employees in the Hospitality sector are from outside the state, CM Sawant called upon youth in Goa to take career opportunities in the sector seriously. “During covid pandemic when workforce from other states was leaving the state, we realised that almost 80 % of the employees in the Hospitality sector were from Himachal, UP, Bihar etc. And we say there are no jobs in Goa,” said CM.
