Smriti Irani announces 60 new anganwadis and a ‘One Stop Center’ for Goa

Digital Goa, June 12 – Goa will get 60 new Anganwadis Goa in the 60 th year of Goa’s Liberation, announced Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Irani after inaugurating the sub-zonal meeting of the Ministry at Dona Paula today. She also announced setting up two modern Aganwadis in each block,equipped with state of the art infrastructure and digital equipment. Irani also announced a new ‘One Stop Centre’ for South Goa. One stop centre is a centrally sponsored scheme of Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD), for providing integrated support and assistance under one roof to women affected by violence, both in private and public spaces in phased manner. The state already has two One Stop Centers, one in North Goa and the other in South Goa.
▪ Three lakh beneficiaries attached to Sanitary pad distribution scheme
Three lakh beneficiaries are attached to the scheme of ‘My Life-My Pad’, wherein sanitary pads are distributed through the self-help groups to women beneficiaries, informed Minister Vishwajeet Rane while speaking at the event.
