Sewerage connection charges of defaulting domestic consumers to be recovered from monthly water bills

Digital Goa, June 10 – Goa govt has decided to act tough on domestic consumers who are not willing to do onetime payment of their sewerage connection charges. Government shall recover the sewerage connection fees from the consumers who are not willing to pay/owners of the vacant flats from their monthly water bills, states a notification issued by the govt today. For individual defaulters with water connection, the sewerage connection fees will be recovered from the monthly water bills of the consumer at the rate of Rs. 150 in each bill issued during the billing cycle till the entire amount of Rs. 3000 is recovered. In cases where there exists a common connection to a building/society and part of the
building owners are willing to pay the sewerage connection fees, the connection will be provided to
the building by accepting the amount paid by the building owners/society and the balance will be recovered from the monthly water bills of the common building/society water connections at the
rate of Rs. 150/flat in each bill issued during the billing cycle till the entire amount of Rs. 3000 per
flat is recovered from the balance amount payable against the flats for which payment is not made, the notification adds.
