Goa to receive heavy to very heavy rain for next 5 days

Digital Goa, June 21 – IMD has forecasted that heavy to very heavy rainfall will continue in Goa for next five days. Fishermen are also advised not to venture into sea for five days. Monsoon that was weak for last few days, became active from yesterday. Heavy rainfall was reported at many places in Goa. Mormugao recorded Max rain of 72.8 mm in last 24 hours followed by Dabolim with 65.2 mm. Pernem, Ponda, Canacona & Mapusa also received good amount of rain in the last 24 hours ending 8.30 am today. Several trees have been uprooted across Goa due to heavy rain. Electricity Dept informed that a big Banyan tree got uprooted and fell on LT line at Talaulim resulting in damage to 4 Poles and 3 phase 6 wire line. Power supply in the area was disrupted due to this.
