Digital Goa, June 17 – Schools across the state will be equipped with computing and coding devices by spending Rs 15 crore this year. Tender for the same has been floated, work order will be given within 15 days, informed CM Pramod Sawant today. “Following this school students will start using the equipment’s practically and improve their skill sets,” he said. CM also exuded confidence that the Coding and Robotics Scheme will improved performance of the students in Math and Science subjects. 60,000 students are direct beneficiaries of the scheme, he added. He further informed that the state has asked funds from the center to install virtual classroom setups in every school. “Using these setups, expert teachers from any one school can take sessions for students in all schools across Goa,” said Sawant.
Cyberage student scheme had more side effects than good effects
“Cyberage scheme, under which laptops and tabs were given to students was stopped as it had more side effects than good effects,” he said.
Vidya Samiksha tracking system to track students progress from Std I to Std XII
The state is also contemplating implementation of central govt promoted Vidhya Samiksha Kendras to track the progress of students since admission in school to the time the student reaches in 12th std, CM further informed. He was speaking at the launch of the Class VII Regular Curriculum Teacher’s Handbook today.
