Sanguem is govt of Goa’s preferred location for setting up IIT campus

Digital Goa, May 10 – Goa govt will give preference to Sanguem Taluka for setting up Indian Institute of Technology(IIT) campus, said CM Pramod Sawant today. “We have identified suitable land. Documentation and verification of the land is on,” he said. He was speaking at the ‘Sarkar Tumchya Dari’ outreach program of Goa govt at Neturlim in Sanguem.
Reacting to Supreme Court verdict on double tracking, Sawant said, “We respect Supreme Court verdict in railway double tracking matter. Instructions given by the court will be followed.”
▪ Tendering process has started in view of restarting mining
Goa govt wants to restart mining activity in the state. In view of this notices have been issued to lease holders to vacate the leases as per Supreme Court guidelines. We have also started the tendering process as needed, said Sawant.
