Digital Goa, May 29 – Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrao has been named Cardinal by Pope Francis. Pope Francis announced today that he would appoint 21 new cardinals in August 2022, one of them being Archbishop Filipe Neri. Of the 21, sixteen including Goa Archbishop are cardinal electors under 80 years old and thus eligible to enter a conclave to elect Pope’s successor. Consistory, the ceremony to officially install the cardinals will be held on August 27.
