Ongoing scrutiny points to several wrongdoings in ODPs :Vishwajeet Rane

Digital Goa, May 11 – Several tenanted and Kazaan lands have been converted, along with non-development slopes that exceed permissible gradients, i.e. greater than 35 gradients, informed TCP Minister Vishwajeet Rane today. The Minister said that several wrongdoings have been highlighted during the ongoing scrutiny of ODPs which is being undertaken by the Committee headed by Chief Town Planner. “ It’s interesting to compare Calangute-Candolim ODP to newly created ODP. These irregularities are shocking to say the least,” Rane lamented.
▪ High rise building approved without proper access
He further asserted that it amounts to prosecution under the Prevention and Corruption Act for using public office for personal gains. Several such irregularities have also been identified in the ODP of Nagao, Parra, and others where high-rise buildings have been approved without having proper access, he pointed out.
▪ Former PDA Chairpersons converted their own properties
“Some people at high level positions, former Chairpersons of the PDA who were instrumental in preparing the ODPs, have converted their own properties while holding office. It is important to have Planning Consultants on board to monitor such wrongdoings,” said Rane.
▪ Irregularities will be share in public domain by Survey number post review
He further went on to announce that all information, survey number by survey number, will be shared once the committee has completed its review.
