Goa govt recommends postponing panchayat elections by 3 months on account of monsoons

Digital Goa, May 25 – Panchayat elections will now be held only after three months , on account of upcoming monsoons. Goa govt has formally written to State Election Commission(SEC) recommending that the panchayat elections be conducted after monsoon. The final decision will be taken by SEC. Govt has also asked the OBC Commission to submit report for OBC reservation after completing all the formalities as per Supreme Court guidelines. The tenure of all 186 panchayats ends this month. The government will appoint administrator to run the panchayats till the panchayat elections are held and new panchayat body is elected.
