FIR will be registered against PDA official and company constructing hotel at Arpora for massive hill cutting – Vishwajeet Rane
Digital Goa, May 1 – FIR will be registered against the officer of Planning and Development Authority(PDA) who permitted the massive hill cutting for the hotel project at Arpora and also on the Project Proponent company for violation of Section 17A of the TCP Act, informed TCP Minister Vishwajeet Rane. Today morning, Deputy Conservator of Forests(DCF), North inspected the construction site at Hotel Park Regis in Arpora. During his inspection, massive hill cutting was noticed with no permission for the same, said Rane. “Section 8 of the Goa Preservation of Trees Act, 1984, classifies it as a serious offence. An offence has been booked for violation of Section 8 of Goa Preservation of Trees Act 1984; an FIR will be registered today against the officers of PDA who permitted the massive hill cutting for the hotel project at Arpora and the company for violation of Section 17A,” the minister said. “I will make certain that an affidavit stating there was a serious lapse on part of the PDA & the TCP dept is presented in court. The govt in its affidavit will make sure that the facts are produced before the court, in the case filed by Goa Foundation,” he assured.
