DHS Director urges people to wear masks in crowded places and take booster dose

Digital Goa, May 10 – Stating that the immunity given by covid vaccine reduces with time, DHS Director Dr Geeta Kakodkar urged people above 60 years of age and those with co-morbidities such as diabetes and hypertension etc to take the precautionary dose of covid vaccine. “It takes around 8 weeks to build immunity after taking the vaccine,” she informed. The Director was speaking to media persons in the capital today in a press briefing. “Though not compulsory, it is advisable to wear mask in crowded places. The state is seeing around 10 cases per day,” she said. Dr Kakodkar asserted that the state is fully prepared to handle the fourth wave, if it arrives.
