Digital Goa, Mar 24 – The Eighth State Legislative Session summoned by Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai will be a two day session commencing on March 29 and ending on March 30. First days business will comprise of Election for the post of Speaker, Governor’s address, nomination of members on the panel of the presiding members (2022-2023) and obituary and congratulatory references. The secretary will report assent of the Governor to the following Bills:- The Goa Agriculture Tenancy (Amendment) Bill, 2021 , The Goa Co-operative Societies (Amendment) Bill, 2021, The Goa Appropriation (No.5) Bill, 2021.
Vote on account for budget on Day 2 of the session
On Day 2, business of the house will comprise of Supplementary demands for grants and connected appropriation bills, presentation of annual financial statement. Vote on account for the year 2022 -2023 will be taken up with Goa appropriation, the connected bill on vote on account. Only vote on account will be taken in this session, and the full budget is likely to be passed in the next i.e. Monsoon assembly session after discussion and debate.
This will be followed by nomination of members on Business Advisory Committee(BAC) and valedictory remarks by the speaker. In this two day session, the first after formation of new govt, only Government business will be transacted and no other business whatsoever including questions, calling attentions or any other business will be transacted.
