CM presents a Swayampura 2.0 Centric Budget

Digital Goa, Mar 30 – Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is presenting the budget for the financial year 2022-23 before the state legislative Assembly today with focus on Swayampurna (Self Sustaining ) Goa 2.0 .

🔹 Highlights of the Budget Presented by CM Sawant – Part I

▪ Goa’s GSDP at current price stands at Rs 91,416.98 crore indicating a growth rate of 7.07%
▪ Goa’s per capita income stands at Rs 5.8 lakhs while state’s fiscal deficit is well within the 4% target
▪ Outlay of Rs 372 crore for Infra Works – Capital outlay for Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation of Rs 372 crore for various infrastructure works across the state, including bridges and school buildings.
▪ 3 LPG cylinders free per year Provision to the tune Rs 40 crore has been made to implement the scheme
▪ Voluntary Retirement Scheme for govt employees – Provision of Rs 10 crore for implementing voluntary retirement scheme.
▪ Housing Scheme provision to the tune of Rs 20 crore
▪ State logistic policy will be notified in the new financial year
▪ Implementation of NEP in phased manner Goa government is in the process of implementing the New Education Policy (NEP) in a phased manner. Students of all pre-primary schools and institutions will be tracked and registered as required by NEP.
▪ 2,000 jobs to be created through Tuem Electronic Manufacturing Cluster over a period of five years
▪ Life insurance scheme for government employees.
▪ Rs 173 crore allocated for Goa Medical College.
▪ Two 50-bed critical care hospitals will be opened in the state, one in each district
▪ Real time water monitoring system, first of its kind in India to be setup in Goa, for which the tender has been floated.
▪ Community water harvesting scheme under which the government will bear 80% of the cost to set up infrastructure.
▪ Griha Aadhar Scheme provision of Rs 230.55 crore, Ladli Laxmi Scheme provision of Rs 85.87 crore
▪ Rs 5 crore under Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs)
▪ Flood Mitigation Fund – Rs 100 crore for flood mitigation measures along vulnerable river banks.
▪ State research foundation will be setup with a fund allocation of Rs 6.5 crore as part of implementation of NEP
