Administration gears up for counting day , final results expected by afternoon

Digital Goa, Mar 8 – Counting of votes will commence at 8 am on Thursday, March 10. With maximum 11 rounds of counting, with each round taking approx 20 to 30 minutes, the entire counting process will take around 4 to 5 hours. This information was shared by North Goa Collector Ajit Roy today in a press briefing. Counting will take place at Govt Polytechnic, Altinho for North Goa and at Damodar College of Commerce and Economics, Margao for South Goa. The counting centers will be guarded by 3 layered security arrangements. Crowding is strictly prohibited near the counting centers, asserted Roy.
State Assembly Elections were held on Feb 14. Total 301 candidates are in fray across 40 Assembly seats in the state.
▪ Mobiles not permitted inside counting centers
Except for returning officers and election observers, no one else including counting staff, polling agents as well as media persons will be allowed to carry mobile phones inside the counting centers.
▪ Full vaccination or covid –ve report mandatory for counting agents
It is mandatory that counting agents deputed by every party are either fully vaccinated or possess 72-hours valid covid negative RT-PCR test report.
