INS Aditya reaches out to injured fisherman off Goa coast

Digital Goa, Feb 4 – Indian Naval Ship (INS) Aditya provided medical assistance to an injured fisherman who had suffered multiple fractures while fishing in the sea off Goa coast yesterday. As per PRO Defence, Mumbai, based on a distress call received from a fishing boat, FV Mahonnathan, INS Aditya provided medical assistance to the critically injured fisherman about 75 nautical miles West of Goa. The fisherman had suffered fractures with crush injuries on fingers of his right hand. The fisherman was provided first aid in the boat itself prior to getting him onboard to arrest bleeding and further treatment. Once he was in stable condition, the fisherman was transferred back to his fishing boat.
