Digital Goa, Feb 25 – The Rs 65.30 crore worth dam which is being constructed by the Maharashtra govt at Fukeri will pose a threat to Kalne river in Pernem Taluka and also affect the water supply for the Chandel water treatment plant, informed Environmentalist Rajendra Kerkar. The Chandel water treatment plant expansion has been proposed to provide adequate water supply to the Mopa Airport project and to the business establishments that are going to come up in the area around the airport. Construction of the dam at Fukeri will affect this expansion project. Kerkar has urged Goa govt to talk to Maharashtra govt in this regards on urgent basis.
