Illegal liquor, drugs and goods worth Rs 2.44 crore seized since MCC came into force in Goa – CEO

Digital Goa, Jan 21 – Illegal liquor, drugs, cash and other goods worth around Rs 2.44 crore have been seized in Goa since the Model Code of Conduct(MCC) came into force in the state on Jan 8, in view of state legislative elections to be held on Feb 14, informed Chief Electoral Officer(CEO) Goa, Kunal. He further went on to add that 3 nominations have been filed on the first day of filing nominations. Incidentally, Former Art & Culture Minister Govid Gaude was the first one to file his nomination from Priol constituency. Another Minister in Sawant led government, Nilesh Cabral also filed his nomination from Curchorem constituency.
