Digital Goa, Jan 23- Party observer for Goa and Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram today said that the decision regarding the same will be taken in consultation with candidates once the nomination process is over. “We will take views of the candidates once nomination process is over. We will take into account their view, whether they want a Congress CM to be announced before the elections or a CM to be announced after the election. That view will be conveyed to the AICC and we will take a decision. We are open to either,” the former Union minister said. Congress has already announced candidates in 36 of the 37 constituencies in which the party is going to contest elections.
Alliance talks not entertained as TMC ‘poached’ Congress leaders
Congress Party refrained from going ahead with alliance talks with TMC as they were constantly involved in ‘poaching’ Congress leaders, informed Chidambaram. “They poached Luizinho Faleiro, and even after the proposal of alliance, they poached Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, whose name was in the Congress’s first list of the candidates. They also poached in other constituencies, like Mormugao and Vasco,” Chidambaram added. On Thursday TMC general secretary Abhishek Banerjee had said that his party had reached out to Chidambaram with a formal offer for pre-poll alliance in Goa, but nothing happened.
