In Goa , 111 % adults are vaccinated with first dose, 98.5 % have taken both doses while 17.3 % have taken the booster dose. In the 15 to 17 years age group with around 74,000 beneficiaries, Goa has been able to achieve only 80 % vaccination. Expressing concern over this Dr Borkar said, “Some schools are not coming forward as parents are reluctant.” He further went on to add that there are hardly any adverse effects and it is very safe to give the vaccine to children. He urged parents not to fall prey to misinformation and come forward to give the vaccine to their children. Administration of Second dose for this age group will commence from Jan 31.
