Digital Goa, Dec 8 – Taking Suo Motu cognizance of article that appeared in local media over concerns raised by local residents about large-scale clearing of beachside vegetation in a private property at Khobrawaddo, Calangute the High Court today issued notice to the state of Goa through its Science & technology Department, Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority(GCZMA), Deputy Collector North at Mapusa and Secretary, Village Panchayat of Calangute returnable on Dec 9. Court has directed the state to urgently look into the matter and submit its preliminary response by returnable date. A video of the trees being hacked has gone viral on social media.
