Digital Goa, Dec 16 – Goa will get its own genome sequencing machine by February 2022 under the Reaching Impact, Saturation and Epidemic Control (RISE) program of United States Agency for International Development (USAID), informed Health Minister Vishwajit Rane. He said the agency will give the machine free of cost and also provide necessary support in terms of kits and other requirements for a period of one year. The program will be implemented through John Hopkins Programme for International Education on Gynaecology and Obstetrics (JHPIEGO), a non-profit organisation for international health affiliated with Johns Hopkins University, he added. Rane said the state has signed an agreement with the agency for 2 years on different aspects of healthcare in Goa.
