Digital Goa, Dec 22- A day after Vishwajit Rane advised his father to retire from electoral politics, Congress party quickly declared candidature of Pratapsingh Rane in Poriem constituency. Rane’s son and Valpoi MLA Vishwajit Rane has already announced that he will contest against his father on BJP ticket in Poriem. The Central Election Committee of Congress party today approved lone candidature of Pratapsingh Rane for the forthcoming assembly elections in Poriem. Interestingly, Sr Rane’s name was not there in the first list of 8 candidates declared by Congress party last week. There was uncertainty earlier about Pratapsing Rane’s willingness to contest elections this time. However, Rane cleared the air by making categorical statement yesterday that he wants to contest on Congress ticket from Poriem.
