Digital Goa, Dec 23 – Anganwadi workers and helpers have decided to hold indefinite strike in support of their demands. Anganwadi workers today held dharna at Azad Maidan under the banner of All Goa Union of Anganwadi workers. They rejected the govt proposal to increase the salaries of Anganwadi helpers and teachers by Rs 750 and Rs 1500 as too little, too late. “We demand minimum Rs 8,000 hike in salary and other leave and pension benefits as our salaries have not been increased for last 10 years”, said President of All Goa Union of Anganwadi Workers Devyani Tamse. A charter of 11 demands have been submitted to the government and we are not going to keep quiet till all our demands are met, she said.
