27 new cases of COVID recorded

Panaji: The state recorded 27 new COVID-19 cases and one new death linked to the dreaded virus on Sunday, taking the tally of active cases of the dreaded virus to 273.

The positivity rate of the samples tested in the last 24 hours is 1.50 per cent.

The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Goa currently are 1,78,866 of which 1,75,211 patients have defeated the deadly disease. Till date 3,382 patients have succumbed to the disease.

According to the DHS, active positive cases in the jurisdictions of urban health centres stand as follows: Margao- 27 cases, Vasco –6 cases, Panaji- 13 cases and Mapusa – 13 cases.

While the active positive cases in the jurisdictions of community health centres are as follows: Sankhali – 5 cases, Bicholim – 5 cases, Pernem – 3 cases, Valpoi – 6 cases, Curchorem – 10 cases and Canacona – 5 cases.

And, the active positive cases in the jurisdictions of primary health centres stand as follows: Aldona – 11 cases, Betki – 2 cases, Candolim- 16 cases, Cansarvanem – no case, Colvale – 3 cases, Corlim – 8 cases, Chimbel – 12 cases, Siolim – 11 cases, Porvorim- 18 cases, Mayem –2 cases, Balli – 12 cases, Cansaulim – 11 cases, Chinchinim – 3 cases, Cortalim -7 cases, Curtorim – 8 cases, Loutolim – 3 cases, Marcaim – no case, Quepem – 11 cases, Sanguem – 6 cases, Shiroda-2 cases, Dharbandora – 18 cases, Ponda – 7 cases and Navelim – 8 cases.
