VP Naidu lauds Goa for higher number of girls in Higher education; says it must serve as an inspiration to other states

Digital Goa, Oct 28 – Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu today lauded Goa for having the Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in Higher education for women at 30% against the national average of 27.3 %. Pointing out that there are higher number of female students in higher education in Goa than the male students, he said “this is a very good sign and must serve as an inspiration to other states.” He also appreciated Government of Goa’s plans to set up Goa State Research Foundation to promote research work in multidisciplinary projects. “Strict segregation of subjects is a thing of past as the world today is increasingly adopting a multidisciplinary approach in higher education to produce well-rounded individuals and better research outcomes,” he said. Naidu was speaking while inaugurating the new campus of Sant Sohirobanath Ambiye Government College of Arts and Commerce in Pernem today.
